2018 College Football Preview

Georgia Tech Football Kicks Off September 1

We are only days away from the start of football season, and it’s shaping up to be one exciting year.

The 2018 season for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets kicks off on Saturday, September 1, as they take on the Alcorn State Braves at home.

Heading into the season, the Yellow Jackets are unranked after the latest release of the Associated Press’s preseason poll. The team went 5-6 last season, but 2018 is a new year with an entirely rebuilt defense.

TaQuon Marshall will be at center, and he has experience on his side going into his second year as a starter. Marshall also spent the off-season addressing his passing game, which will hopefully be showcased in the fall.

A full line of veterans and one of the best running games in the nation only adds to the potential of the team during the upcoming season.

While the defense will shift to a 3-4 and the secondary is essentially starting anew, the talent is there to make this one of the most exciting seasons of Yellow Jackets football yet.

The team’s schedule itself also lets us know that the 2018 Yellow Jackets football season will be one to remember.

In September alone, the Yellow Jackets will take on Alcorn State, USF, Pitt and Bowling Green. It also includes one of the most highly anticipated match-ups of the season: the Clemson Tigers.

Some of the most competitive games of the 2018 CFB season are expected to be Virginia Tech, Miami and Georgia.

So, why not meet all of your buddies from Kappa Alpha Order at an upcoming tailgate for some great action by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets?

You can reach out to your fellow brothers directly, or you can check the Georgia Tech Alumni Association site for the latest events.

Leadership tailgates are hosted before each and every home game, with plenty of beverages, snacks and game day swag to go around.

While most of us are more excited for football to start, there are also other fall sports to be excited about. Georgia Tech volleyball started on August 24, and cross country and golf start in September. The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team is set to host Florida Tech in an exhibition game on November 3.
